Altered Books

A couple of weekends ago Sarah and I took a trip to Mevagissey to spend the weekend with a group of lovely ladies and the best teacher, Linda from Just Scrapbooking.  It was an altered books weekend and we were to complete three books.  First thing was to pick a theme for each book, I decided on Time, Beach and originally I was going to do something on the 1920's but wasn't really very inspired by this so decided to change to one of my favourite films "The Wizard of Oz".  It's amazing what you can find on e-bay to add to your books!

We stayed at the lovely Bodrugan Barton, Sally and Tim as usual looked after us with the best food and hospitality.

We did lots of different techniques over the weekend and ended up with two almost done books and one with the cover and a drawer made.  Here are some photo's.

Sarah busy at work.

A drawer cut into the back of the book

Using some amazing crackle medium to make this background.

Another niche cut into the book, lots of cutting and lots of blades used!!

My favourite book - The Wizard of Oz - follow that yellow brick road .....

The Scarecrow

The Tin Man

The Cowardly Lion

Dorothy

A sleeping puss cat to finish with !!
